The SEO Experiment

So apparently the first intentional tests of “The Great Coolest Guy On The Planet Experiment” were started in 2005 between 2 popular marketers who just so happened to know a few things about getting ranked well in the search engines.

B r a d  F a l l o n  ( Possibly related to Jimmy F a l l o n ?)

and

M i k e  F i l s a i m e

The story goes they were hitting the casinos in Vegas and B. tells the dealer I’m the Coolest Guy on the planet, go ahead and Google it.

So M. actually does it and sure enough he’s ranked #1 for the search term “the coolest guy on the planet”

Well once the SEO a.k.a “the search engine optimization” world finds out about every Tom, Dick and Harry and a few Janes too decide to start competing as well.

Needless to say many SEO Geeks have come and gone as Coolest Guy On The Planet.

B. currently ranks #1

We’ll have to see if we can remedy that.

I’ve dedicated this site to sharing stats and news on my own quest for the crown which is documented in my SEO Best Practices Book “The Blackbook of SEO”

Blackbook Collection of SEO To Be Released June 3rd

The Blackbook of SEO is hitting the cyber streets on June 3rd.

The reason I chose The Blackbook of “SEO” to be released first is because I’m a self-confessed SEO Geek and I think many people are still intimidated like I first was when I got started with Optimizing my Sites.

The Blackbooks are the coolest series of Best Practice Guides on the Planet because they are put out by this guy.

Just Kidding.

I my humble opinion the are “the best” and “the coolest” because they are presented to the member in a simple step by step formula that even a “brain-dead” monkey could figure out.

The truth of the matter is SEO or “Search Engine Optimization” or “Optimisation”, as my British Friends would spell it, is a pretty simple formula and you get a knack for it once you get started.

That’s why a few months back I started this “Coolest Guy On The Planet Site” I wanted to see just how competitive it was.

Actually the first one I started which is surprising ranked worse for the coolest guy on the planet was my Original Coolest Guy On The Planet site

If you go there now you’ll notice it’s absolutely hideous as far as design, but so was this one up until yesterday :-)

Fortunately Search Engines don’t judge your site for beauty. (but keep in mind PEOPLE do)

In just a few months I was able to pass up several websites optimized for the search term The Coolest Guy On The Planet search term.

Many of these site have been trying to compete for these terms for years. While I’ve been active on my campaign for just a few short months.

So what’s this guy’s secret?

You’ll have to get the Blackbook of SEO, my new Best Practices Guide to get all the secrets.
